Robert’s Westside | Brand Identity | Bar & Venue

A music destination inspired by family heritage and a love of all things music.

The first of its kind, Robert's Westside changes the landscape of Madison Street in Forest Park, IL – a vibrant Chicago working-class suburb historically home to dive bars and old-school Irish Pubs – to provide a new kind of space for the community to gather, listen to music, and celebrate life, together.

Robert’s Westside is built on a vision inspired by generations; crafted from childhood memories and the owner’s unwavering love of music.

“HiFi brought my vision to life. What became of Robert's Westside was above and beyond my expectations.”

— Donnie Biggins, Owner & Music Veteran, Robert’s Westside

HiFi worked with ownership to develop a flexible brand identity that paid homage to Donnie’s father (Robert), his family's deep-rooted Chicago-Irish heritage, and love for the White Sox.

Robert's handwritten signature

The owner’s parents were a huge source of inspiration behind the brand identity – Robert’s handwriting was used to inspire the handrawn script for the logo.

Knowing Robert’s would book and promote several shows weekly, HiFi crafted a simple but impactful graphic system for show posters & social media promotions that would evolve with the monthly calendar.

HiFi collaborated with ownership on all aspects of the guest experience, including exterior signage, interior design consulting, apparel and merch.

“The nook inside Robert's Westside has become the most complimented and talked-about feature of our venue, thanks to HiFi's exceptional execution in bringing the concept to life.”

— Donnie Biggins, Owner & Music Veteran, Robert’s Westside

A restricted budget and an appetite for artistic layering and reuse inspired the aesthetic for the bar and venue. HiFi collaborated with wallpaper artist & installer Wall of Sounds Designs to bring to life the layered bathroom aesthetic and vintage nook wallpaper.
